The 2025/26 FIS Freestyle World Cup season will open with an expanded program in Ruka (FIN). An additional Moguls event has been added to the schedule, extending the competition weekend into Monday, 8 December.

The extra event was agreed upon by FIS, Ski Sport Finland and Ruka Ski Resort in order to recover one of the previously cancelled competitions in Sweden. Adding this race also provides Moguls athletes with an extra opportunity to compete for valuable World Cup points at the start of an important Olympic season.

The updated Ruka World Cup opener will now include three consecutive competition days:

  • 6 December: Aerials

  • 7 December: Moguls

  • 8 December: Moguls (newly added event)

Ruka’s reliable early-winter conditions and long-standing experience hosting the season kickoff make it a solid venue to accommodate the extended program. With the new event in place, athletes will have one more chance to build early rhythm and assess form as the road toward the Olympic Winter Games begins.

Further information, detailed schedules and start lists will be published through official FIS channels closer to the event.
