The Swedish freestyle skiing team has suffered a major setback ahead of the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games, with Filip Gravenfors and Robin Olgaard both sidelined after sustaining injuries during the final phase of their preparations.
Gravenfors was injured while training in Ruka, Finland, where he was preparing for the Olympic Games. The 25 year old crashed during a training session and broke his collarbone, ruling him out of competition. Gravenfors had been enjoying a strong season and arrived into the Olympic period in excellent form. After finishing third overall in the World Cup standings last season, he recorded two podium finishes this winter, making him one of Sweden’s strongest medal hopes in moguls.

Just weeks earlier, fellow Swedish mogul skier Robin Olgaard also saw his Olympic ambitions come to an abrupt end. Shortly after being nominated for the Games, the 22 year old sustained a serious knee injury following a crash during the World Cup event in Val St Come, Canada, earlier in January. The injury has ended his season and will keep him sidelined for an extended period.
Both athletes were considered key members of the Swedish freestyle squad heading into Livigno, and their absence represents a significant loss for the team.
The entire FIS Freestyle family sends its best wishes to Filip Gravenfors and Robin Olgaard, hoping for a smooth recovery and a strong return to competition.
