Day 5 of the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games sharpens the focus on three of winter sport’s purest tests, with men’s speed, combined endurance and technical mastery all taking centre stage across alpine skiing, Nordic Combined and freestyle skiing. With three Olympic titles to be decided, today’s programme may be lighter in quantity than previous days, but heavy in significance as established contenders and specialists face moments that could define their Games.
The iconic Stelvio slope hosts another high-stakes speed battle as men’s Super-G rewards precision at full throttle, while Predazzo and Tesero combine jumping finesse and endurance racing in the Nordic Combined Gundersen, a discipline where balance across two very different skills often proves decisive. In Livigno, the bumps take centre stage as women’s moguls crowns an Olympic champion in a discipline where execution, rhythm and nerve leave no room for error.

Athletes & Storylines to Watch
Alpine Skiing Men's Super-G
The men’s Super-G on the Stelvio slopes sets up one of the most thrilling speed contests of Milano Cortina 2026, with World Cup leader Marco Odermatt (SUI) arriving in Bormio in peak form after a commanding finish to the season in Kitzbühel. Switzerland’s strength is reinforced by Franjo von Allmen (SUI), already a double Olympic gold medallist at these Games. Home hopes rest with Giovanni Franzoni (ITA), while Austria’s experienced trio of Vincent Kriechmayr, Stefan Babinsky and Raphael Haaser (AUT) ensure the podium remains wide open.
Nordic Combined Individual Gundersen Normal Hill/10km
Nordic Combined arrives in Predazzo with momentum firmly behind Johannes Lamparter (AUT), who leads the field after a season of consistent World Cup excellence. Challengers such as Norway’s “Oftebrothers” Luraas Oftebro and Einar Luraas Oftebro and Austria’s Thomas and Stefan Rettenegger certainly have the pedigree to challenge for the title. With jumping precision and endurance equally decisive, the Gundersen format promises to be an exciting battle for the medals.
Freestyle Skiing Women's Moguls
Women’s moguls shapes as a test of nerve and execution, with Perrine Laffont (FRA) targeting a third Olympic title. The French skier’s control and consistency have set the benchmark, but Olympic pressure leaves no margin for error on the bumps. Jakara Anthony (AUS) topped qualification at Livigno Aerials & Moguls Park on Tuesday and is this season’s Moguls Crystal Globe leader.
