Milano Cortina 2026 reaches its midpoint with 28 of 57 ski and snowboard medals already decided, setting the stage for an equally compelling second half of the Games. With 29 podiums still to be claimed, the intensity shows no sign of slowing as Day 8 delivers another diverse and high-stakes programme.

Freestyle Skiing Women's Dual Moguls

Women’s Dual Moguls makes its Olympic debut at Milano Cortina 2026 with the USA arriving in dominant form after sweeping the only World Cup event of the season. Fresh off her Olympic Moguls gold, Elizabeth Lemley (USA) leads a deep American squad that includes Jaelin KaufTess Johnson and Olivia Giaccio, all targeting another podium lockout. Rivals Perrine Laffont (FRA), Charlotte Wilson (AUS) and Jakara Anthony (AUS) aim to disrupt that momentum in a head-to-head format built on speed and tactics.

My self-belief is through the roof, so I believe I can do it again in duals. Skiing against (my teammates), it’s not personal. They’re just another competitor and I always want the best for them, so it’s just normal. I’ve done it before. Elizabeth Lemley (USA)

Cross-Country Skiing Women's 4 x 7.5km Relay

Sweden’s women line up for the 4 x 7.5km relay in Tesero carrying momentum, with every team member already a medallist at Milano Cortina 2026 and Frida Karlsson chasing a third gold. Olympic champions Linn Svahn, Jonna Sundling and Ebba Andersson join Karlsson as Sweden targets a first relay title since Sochi 2014. Norway and Germany arrive as major threats, while Finland and USA, led by four-time Olympic medalist Jessie Diggins, aim to challenge the Scandinavian stronghold. With recent world championship success behind them, Sweden race not just with form, but belief.

I'm the only one who will have two medals at the start area. I have nothing to lose, I want to win gold there, so I can go all in.  Marco Odermatt (SUI) looks ahead to the GS

Ski Jumping Men's Large Hill Individual

The Men’s Individual Large Hill resumes Olympic ski jumping action in Predazzo after a short break, with Domen Prevc (SLO) aiming to add to his Mixed Team gold. The World Cup leader has dominated Large Hill this season and posted the longest jump (143.5m) in training, but faces strong form from Jan Hoerl and Ren Nikaido (JPN). Normal Hill champion Philipp Raimund (GER) and Beijing 2022 Large Hill silver medallist Ryoyu Kobayashi (JPN) also remain firmly in contention.

It is a big lesson that it is worth putting in time, effort, a lot of sweat and tireless nights. If you put in a lot of work, things can pay off. Domen Prevc (SLO) on winning his first Olympic title
