As part of the ongoing implementation of the FIS Education Strategy, FIS successfully delivered two Speed Clinics for coaches in Saalbach (AUT) and Sölden (AUT). In cooperation with the European Ski Federation (FESA), the Speed Clinic held in Sölden—organized in conjunction with the FIS–FESA Speed Academy—provided a strong example of the benefits of close collaboration with National Ski Associations in developing structured, safety‑focused coach education for alpine speed disciplines.
Hosted in real event environments, the clinics combined practical on‑hill experience, expert technical input, and international exchange. They represent the first practical applications of the FIS Speed Coach Education Framework, which is currently under development, and demonstrate the value of strong partnerships in translating strategic education concepts into applied learning opportunities.
A total of 11 coaches from eight nations took part in the clinics, with a strong focus on course safety, safety installations, event preparation, and shared coaching responsibilities at the elite level.
The collaboration between FIS, FESA, and National Ski Associations once again demonstrated how joint educational initiatives can support sustainable capacity building and strengthen professional standards in alpine speed skiing.
