Erik Roeste

Erik Roeste (*1960) was elected to the FIS Council at the 2018 FIS Congress in Costa Navarino (GRE). He is also the President of the Norwegian Ski Association, a post he has held since 2012. He was Vice-President of the Association from 2008-2012. Erik has long been part of the Ski Family, starting as a Cross-Country coach in 1977.

Roeste earned a degree from the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences in Oslo. During the entire 90´s, he worked for the Norwegian Ski Association as a Sport Director and coach for the men´s national team in Cross Country skiing.

After Roeste completed his coaching career in 1998, he was a member of various FIS committees, including the Chairman of the Cross Country World Cup committee. Roeste was also an international TD with annual assignments in the World Cup, and also at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Liberec in 2009.

From 1998-2013 Roeste worked for several companies in the sports industry in Norway. From 1998-2001, he was head of the purchasing department in Adidas Norway before joining the Sports 1 Group, Norway's second largest sports chain as Chief Executive. In 2008 Roeste moved on to become the Chief Executive of Bj Sport (Bjoern Daehlie’s clothing line).
