Mats Arjes (*1967) joined the FIS Council in 2010 and served as a Vice-President of the FIS Council between 2018-2021. He was named the FIS Treasurer and Chairman of the Finance Commission in 2018 and held these postd through 2022.

He is President, Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Board of Directors of SkiStar AB. He has been Member of the Board of SkiStar AB since 2003 and also serves as a Member of the Board of New Wave Group AB. Furthermore in 2018 he has been elected as President of the Swedish Olympic Committee. From 2004 to 2008 he served as Secretary General, respectively 2008 to 2018 as President of the Swedish Ski Association.

Mr Arjes used to alpine ski race actively in his youth, up to a national elite level, until he was forced to retire from competition due to injury. A holder of a Master of Science degree in Business Administration and Economics,  he is married, with two children and lives in Leksand.
