Michel Vion (*1959) was appointed as the FIS Secretary General on 22nd June 2021.

Before being named to the post, he was member of the FIS Council from 2004-2008 and re-elected in 2010. Since 2002, he is also Member of the Board of the French Ski Association and was elected its President in June 2010. Previously, he worked as Alpine Director at the French Ski Association for seven years (from 1992 to 1999) and as General Sports Director for another two years (from 1999 to 2001). In 2001, he moved to the industry to serve as Competition Director at Ski Dynastar. From 2005-2009, he was Director of Racing at the Rossignol Group that includes brands such as Rossignol, Dynastar, Lange, Look and Kerma.

A former world-class ski racer, Mr. Vion became World Champion in combined at the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Schladming (AUT) in 1982. He also collected three World Cup podiums in his career, including a victory in Wengen (SUI) in 1985 and was a seven-time French champion.

In his spare time, Mr. Vion still likes to ski and go cycling. He is married, has one child and lives in Megève.
