2014 Triple Junior World Champion Philipp Orter started his career at the young age of nine when he made his first ski jump -  a feeling that has kept him going until today. It was not until he was 13 that he discovered his passion for cross-country skiing as well, turning him into a Nordic Combined athlete.

Since winning big time at the Junior World Championships at Val di Fiemme in 2014 when Orter walked away with all possible gold medals, he has been a fixture in the World Cup, having debuted in Val di Fiemme in 2012. In the winter of 2014/15, Orter was able to achieve several Top 15 results and also got the chance to start at the World Championships in Falun. In 2015/16, he followed up with four Top Ten results on the World Cup tour, giving him a Top 20 finish in the overall standings for the first time. The 2016/17 season gave Orter his first World Championship medal, a bronze medal with the team. In the World Cup, he repeated his 17th overall ranking from the season before.
