Korhonen wins women’s first PCR in Lahti
Mar 05, 2026·Nordic CombinedUnder bright sunshine at the famed Salpausselkä Ski Stadium in Lahti, the Provisional Competition Round (PCR) for the first-ever Women’s FIS Nordic Combined World Cup took place Thursday morning, marking a historic moment for the sport.
A total of 23 athletes from 10 nations competed on the Salpausselkä HS130 hill, each completing one training jump before the PCR.
Local favorite Minja Korhonen delivered the standout performance of the day, soaring to 123.5 meters, the longest jump of the session. The impressive effort earned the Finnish jumper 120.1 points, securing her the provisional victory and raising the excitement among the home crowd.
Second place went to Alexa Brabec of the United States. Brabec reached 119.5 meters and scored 111 points, positioning herself strongly ahead of the competition’s opening round.
Overall World Cup leader Ida Marie Hagen of Norway rounded out the top three. Hagen jumped 116 meters for 100.2 points, maintaining solid form heading into the main event.
The historic World Cup premiere continues Friday, when the Individual Gundersen competition begins with the ski jumping round at 12:00 CET in Lahti.
