The Provisional Competition Round (PCR) for the Women’s Viessmann FIS Nordic Combined World Cup was held today in Oberhof (GER) under cloudy conditions. A total of 31 athletes from 11 nations were on the start list, completing two training jumps followed by the official PCR on the HS 100 Hans-Renner hill in Kanzlersgrund.
Norway’s Ingrid Laate once again underlined her strong form on the jumping hill. Wearing the blue bib as the current Best Jumper, Laate secured the PCR victory with a jump of 96.5 meters and a total of 125.3 points, clearly setting the benchmark for the field.
Second place went to Finland’s Minja Korhonen, who reached 96 meters and collected 122.7 points. Germany’s Nathalie Armbruster followed closely behind, finishing third with a jump of 95 meters and 119.8 points, much to the delight of the home crowd.
The longest jump of the day was delivered by American athlete Alexa Brabec. She soared to 99 meters, the furthest distance of the round, and finished fourth overall with 117.1 points.
The women’s first competition of the weekend, an Individual Compact, will get underway tomorrow. The event begins with the jumping round scheduled for 9:00 CET.
