The FIS Independent Ethics and Compliance Office (IECO) has completed its investigation in the case of Mr Truls Johansen, a member of the Norwegian Nordic Combined team.

Upon request from FIS, the IECO carried out an investigation related to Mr Johansen’s involvement in the equipment control procedures of athlete Jørgen Graabak after the team event at the FIS Nordic Ski World Championships in Trondheim, on 7 March 2025.

On that occasion, Jørgen Graabak was disqualified for a violation of the competition’s equipment rules related to his ski bindings. At the time, suspicion arose of an attempt to cover up a possible manipulation of the athlete’s equipment.

The IECO concluded that Mr Johansen did not knowingly or negligently violate either the FIS Universal Code of Ethics or the FIS Rules on the Prevention of Manipulation of Competitions.

The IECO has therefore requested that FIS close the case and not refer it to the FIS Ethics Committee. FIS has agreed with this conclusion, having decided to close the case without further consequences.
