Minja Korhonen won the gold medal in the women's Individual Gundersen event at the Youth Olympic Games in Gangwon (KOR).

The Finn was already in the lead after the Ski Jumping competition on the HS 109 at noon. With the furthest distance of the day of 103.5 meters, Korhonen collected 133.3 points and was the first one to start into the 4 km cross-country race in the afternoon.

Rank 2 after jumping went to Teja Pavec from Slovenia with 100 meters and 128.6 points. She went into the race 19 seconds after the leader.
Heta Hirvonen (100 m, 118.6 pts) placed third, 59 seconds behind her Finnish team mate.

In bright sunshine, the Nordic Combined women competed in the venue of the 2018 Olympic Winter Games for the prestigious medals.
Korhonen showed a strong performance on cross-country skis and confidently defended her lead.
Also Pavec kept her position, while Hirvonen was not able to keep up with the high speed of her pursuer Tia Malovrh from Slovenia, who was 4th after the jumping competition.

Minja Korhonen defended her lead until the end and won the gold medal, 47.2 seconds ahead of Pavec who took silver.
Malovrh secured the bronze medal for Slovenia and completed the podium as third, 1:11.3 min behind.

After Lisa Hirner (AUT) in 2020, Korhonen is the second female Youth Olympic Champion in Nordic Combined and the first one from Finland.
