Team Norway wins in Lahti

The team from Norway ( Johann Andre Forfang, Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal, Halvor Egner Granerud and Marius Lindvik) won the ski jumping team competition in Lahti (FIN) on Saturday evening. The Norwegians came out on top ahead of the team from Austria (Daniel Tschofenig, Stephan Embacher, Jan Hoerl and Stefan Kraft) and the German team (Pius Paschke, Stephan Leyhe, Philipp Raimund and Andreas Wellinger).

In the end, it was a start-to-finish victory for the Norwegian team. Only the Austrian Jan Hörl, who excelled in this competition, briefly put the Norwegian team in trouble with a 134 meter jump in the final, but it was not enough to catch the strong Norwegians. "That was a great competition from us today, everyone jumped well and that was the key to success in the end," said a delighted Johann Andre Forfang, who had already managed the longest jump of the day in the first round with a jump of 135.5 meters.

Stefan Kraft explained for the team from Austria:
"The jumps were very solid today, we had 8 solid jumps as a team. It's not easy in conditions like today, you always need that little bit of luck. We are very happy as a team with second place, the Norwegians were really strong today and coped well with the conditions.
The stupid jump from yesterday is out of my head, that was important for me. Tomorrow in the individual competition I will attack again and then I hope that it works out".

The German team was also satisfied with 3rd place: "Our jumps were good, but not very good, we all still had some reserves," said Andreas Wellinger, summing up the competition. The German team was 26.3 points behind Austria and 52 points behind Norway.

Fourth place went to the team from Poland ahead of the team from Japan, who presented themselves well with former champion Noriaki Kasai.
Behind them were the teams from Finland, Slovenia and the USA.
Virtually everyone had expected the Slovenian team in particular to be much further up the field, but things didn't go well for them on Saturday.
The teams from Switzerland and Kazakhstan were eliminated after the first round.

An individual competition will follow on Sunday in Lahti, starting at 16:00 CET (17:00 LOC)
