Domen Prevc does the double and reigns in Wisla
Dec 07, 2025·Ski JumpingWorld Large Hill champion Domen Prevc (SLO) completed a perfect weekend with a second successive victory in Wisla, Poland. With the win, Prevc also moved into the lead of the Crystal Globe standings, overtaking compatriot Anze Lanisek (SLO).
Prevc climbed from fourth place after the first jump (137m and 137.6 points) to take victory with a combined total of 282.3 points, finishing just 0.9 points ahead of Ryoyu Kobayashi (JPN).
Kobayashi had led the way after a stunning 130.5 m first jump worth 142.1 points, but his second attempt (139.0 points) wasn’t quite enough to maintain his advantage.
Prevc, who also topped Saturday’s competition, delivered a 132 m second jump that earned him 144.7 points, sealing the win.
Slovenian finds winning formula
“Yesterday, I kind of found out what I need to do here to be successful,” Prevc said with a smile. “I managed to do really good jumps again today — amazing ones. Also in qualifications,” he added, referring to his top spot in qualifying.
Despite his second victory of the weekend, he remained critical. "In the first jump, the landing wasn't the best, so I lost quite a lot of points because of that. But I can still be satisfied with the distance I achieved.
"I knew what I had to do in the second round, and I performed a really good jump, with a solid landing. You can always jump better, you are never perfect. Every morning when we wake up, we have to remember that we are normal people with our own responsibilities. Each day is a new challenge, but also a chance to work and train to achieve success."
The 26-year-old Slovenian claimed his eleventh career World Cup victory — and his second of the 2025/26 campaign. He also took over the lead in the Crystal Globe standings from Anže Lanišek (SLO), who finished eighth.
For Prevc, the lead in the overall ranking means a lot. “(But) It’s quite some pressure”, he laughed. “(It’s) A responsibility. I have to get back to work. I still need to work hard - tomorrow I will go back to the gym. I will have to stay focused."
Kobayashi and Raimund land on podium again
Kobayashi also secured his second podium finish of the weekend in Wisla, after a third place on Saturday, he finished second behind Prevc on the final day of Poland. The Japanese star had only qualified in 11th place, but stepped up his game in the afternoon.
"I am very happy with today’s competition", Kobayashi said. "I saw Domen’s first jump - very long, but without a telemark, which worked in my favour. Even though I ended up finishing second today, I feel very pleased."
Raimund, who landed in second on Saturday, rounded out the podium. "It makes me proud, I'm happy", Raimund said afterward. "I'll try to keep working on my landings. There is still room for improvement. Today wasn't quite as easy, even though I have raised my basic level and bring more stability, calm, and harmony to my jumps. I enjoy competing with the best ski jumpers in the world, like Domen and Ryoyu."
Ren Nikaido (JPN) finished fourth with 273.4 points, while home star Kacper Tomasiak (POL) secured his first career top-10 result, taking fifth place in Wisla with a combined total of 270.3 points. Poland's Piotr Zyla finished seventh on his home hill.
Reigning Crystal Globe champion Daniel Tschofenig (AUT)'s difficult start to the 2025/26 season continued with a 13th place in Wisla on Sunday.
