Domen Prevc (SLO) claimed his first win of the 2025/26 season with a sensational World Cup victory in Wisla, Poland, on Saturday. After two runner-up results and a third place earlier this winter, Prevc attained a total of 286.2 points to finish 6.8 points clear of Philipp Raimund (GER).

Top-qualifier Ryoyu Kobayashi (JPN) rounded out the podium (279.4 points), marking his second podium of the season after a win at the second World Cup event in Lillehammer.

Anze Lanisek (SLO) finished in fourth with 265.8 points, but remains the leader in the overall Crystal Globe standings.

Prevc produces best jumps when it matters

It is Prevc’s career-tenth World Cup victory and a hard-fought win after a tough start to the weekend. “I put a lot of pressure on myself today”, Prevc said afterward.

The 26-year-old Slovenian had only finished in 33th in the qualification round on Friday and knew he had to do something different if he wanted to be in with a chance for the podium. “After yesterday, I was thinking about what I needed to do today to make it better", Prevc added. "After a disastrous trial round earlier (on Saturday), I told myself that I need to enjoy it and jump as well as I can."

"Somehow, I managed to show my two best jumps in Wisla right at the competition", Prevc, the reigning Large Hill world champion, smiled. "I’m super, super happy that I was able to show my two best jumps here. I beat myself today."

Prevc took an early lead after a 136m first jump, worth 140.6 points - 4,3 points ahead of Raimund.

The German, the penultimate jumper of the competition, delivered a sensational second jump at 130.5m for 143.1 points, setting a tough target. But Prevc answered in style: with 145.6 points (130m) on his second jump to seal the victory.

Prevc followed in the footsteps of his sister NIka Prevc, who claimed victory in the women’s event on Friday.

Raimund happy in second

Despite missing out on the victory, second-place finisher Raimund was satisfied with his result in Wisla. "‘After my second jump, I briefly thought that maybe I could win", the German said afterward. "But Domen pulled it off brilliantly. Nevertheless, I'm very happy with all my jumps here so far", he added.

For Raimund, it was his second podium finish of the season, following a third place in Falun.

Reigning Crystal Globe champion Daniel Tschofenig (AUT), who won one of the events in Wisla last season, landed in sisth place.
