Tributes have been paid to "proven expert" and "good friend" Ueli following his passing.

On November 5, after a short serious illness, FIS honorary member Ueli Forrer from Switzerland passed away at the age of 79.

From 1994 to 1998, Forrer was the representative of the Swiss Ski Association in the FIS subcommittee for jumping judges and technical delegates for ski jumping.

When the subcommittees for jumping judges, technical delegates, and control were merged in 1998, Forrer took over as chair of the combined committee and held this position for over 20 years, until 2020.

During this time, Forrer's ideas and vision ensured the continuous development of ski jumping.

From 2012 to 2020, Ueli Forrer also served as coordinator of the FIS Cup, the third competition series of the FIS ski jumpers alongside the World Cup and Continental Cup.

Forrer was extremely popular with colleagues, athletes, and teams thanks to his enormous competence and his always calm and friendly manner.

On August 2, Ueli Forrer was named honorary member of the FIS.

"We have lost not only a proven ski jumping expert but also a good friend. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Ueli for everything he has done for ski jumping over the years.

"We will honor his memory and extend our deepest condolences to his family," said FIS Race Director Sandro Pertile.
