Olympic champion Nika Prevc (SLO) completed the Lahti World Cup double for the second season in row and secured a record 16th victory of the 2025-26 FIS Ski Jumping campaign.

Prevc won her third-successive Crystal Globe crown, awarded to the Overall World Cup winner, after claiming the title in the first women’s contest in Finland on Thursday.

The Slovenian was again in dominant form, topping the standings with the highest scoring jumps, of 136.6pts (130m) and 145.4pts (128.5m) across the respective first and second rounds.

“I like being here and I feel really good in the second part of the jump on this hill,” Prevc told FIS after her latest win.

“Every time it feels like this here and I hope that my feelings continue.”

Her combined total of 282 points, saw her finish 14.5pts clear of nearest rival and double Olympic champion Anna Odine Stroem (NOR), with Nozomi Maruyama (JPN) completing the podium places with a total which was 29.9pts short of that achieved by Prevc.

The Japanese ski jumper, who is second in the FIS Overall Standings after an outstanding breakthrough campaign, had ranked fifth at the halfway stage, but fought back to ensure there was a repeat of the top-three from Lahti’s first women’s World Cup of the 2025/26 season, in the second.

Nika Vodan (SLO) had hoped to attain what would have been her second World Cup podium finish of the season after placing third after the opening round, but a jump of 113.5m, which scored just 115.3 points saw her slip to 11th in the final standings.

Selina Freitag (GER), the 2024/25 Crystal Globe runner-up, placed an encouraging fifth as she looks to end a somewhat frustrating season in strong style, while Abigail Strate (CAN) will take confidence from finishing fourth, her best result in over two months.

Prevc has now won 16 World Cup contests during the current campaign and becomes the overall record holder, having levelled the previous best-ever haul of 15 wins, set by Sara Takanashi (JPN), in 2013/14, following her win on Thursday.

The women’s field now have five World Cup races remaining during the 2025/26 campaign and will next convene in Norway for double-headers in Oslo (13-15 March) and Vikersund (21-22 March), before the season concludes World Cup, in Planica (28 March).

“For Oslo, I hope to stay in the same shape and enjoy it there, as well as for the rest of the season,” concluded Prevc.
