Prevc sets new hill record and completes Kulm double
Mar 01, 2026·Ski JumpingDomen Prevc (SLO) capped a perfect weekend in Kulm, Austria, with a second successive victory. The two-time Olympic champion set a new hill record of 245.5m in the second round, surpassing the 244m mark set by his brother, Peter Prevc (SLO), in 2016.
A combined total of 463.2 points saw Domen finish 24.8 points ahead of Stephan Embacher (AUT), while Johann Andre Forfang (NOR) rounded out the podium.
It’s Prevc’ sixth World Cup win in a row - a feat only five other male ski jumpers have achieved - and his thirteenth triumph of the season.
The 26-year-old Slovenian opened his quest for the Kulm double with a 238m opening jump, scoring 230.6 points and further extended his lead in the second round thanks to his record jump.
Embacher, who jumped to a personal best of 240.5m in the opening round, scoring 217.8 points, and held onto his second place position throughout.
Forfang secured Norway’s first World Cup podium finish of the season in third with a combined total of 405.5 points.
Massive personal best for Naito on borrowed skis
Tomofumi Naito (JPN) narrowly missed out on the podium in fourth (404.7 points), but the story behind his performance is remarkable. The Japanese ski jumper missed qualifications on Friday due to a cancelled flight, yet made it in time for Sunday’s rounds. One problem remained: his skis were missing.
Borrowing a pair, Naito moved up from seventh to fourth in the second round with his his longest jump of the season - 242.5m - setting a massive personal best (404.7 points) and nearly claiming a spot on the podium.
Naito finished well ahead of Andreas Wellinger (GER), who rounded out the top five with a combined total of 394.1 points.
Naoki Nakamura (JPN) landed in sixth (394.0 points), ahead of Valentin Foubert (FRA) and Ryoyu Kobayashi (JPN).
