The 2026 FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships kick off this weekend with Narvik (NOR) hosting the nine-day event from 7-15 March.
The world’s best young alpine skiers will hit the slopes in the Downhill, Super G, Team Combined, Slalom, Giant Slalom and Team Parallel in the 45th edition of the championships that were first held in Auron, France, in 1982.
It marks the second time that Narvik Ski Resort will stage the event, six years after Magdalena Egger (AUT) became only the third woman to win three individual gold medals at a single edition before Covid-19 forced the curtailment of the competition.
Situated in Northern Norway above the Arctic Circle, Narvik will also host the Alpine World Ski Championships for the first time in 2029 with the junior event giving athletes and organizers a dry run under high-stakes competition conditions.
Among the rising stars heading to the mountains are a sprinkling of Olympic debutants from Milano-Cortina 2026.

Cornelia Öhlund (SWE) made her bow in the Slalom and already has two golds among four medals across four FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships. She won Slalom gold at the 2025 edition in Tarvisio.
Sue Piller (SUI) took on the Giant Slalom and flew to a sixth-placed finish at the Spindleruv Mlyn World Cup stop while her fellow Swiss Dania Allenbach won the Giant Slalom at the European Cup in Oberjoch, Germany.
Anna Trocker (ITA) joined Nicol Delago as the Italian duo finished 10th in the Women’s Team Combined.
Giorgia Collomb (ITA) is an exciting young prospect who has already tasted senior success as part of the winning Italy team at the 2025 World Championships in Saalbach, Austria. The 18-year-old won the Giant Slalom at Tarvisio 2025.
Elisabeth Bocock (USA), now established on the World Cup circuit, is back a year after double bronze at the 2025 edition.
Flavio Vitale (FRA) returns a year after lifting the Giant Slalom crown while all three Carrick-Smith brothers (GBR) head to Norway. Older brother Luca and twins Freddy and Zak have enjoyed senior and junior success over the last two years with Luca winning Slalom bronze in Tarvisio.
