Norwegian skiing sensation Lucas Braathen has officially announced his retirement from competitive skiing, a decision that has come with a mix of emotions but ultimately a sense of newfound freedom. The 23-year-old athlete, not only renowned for his remarkable skiing achievements, bids adieu to the world of professional skiing.

Lucas’ journey through the world of skiing has been remarkable. Over his career, he achieved 5 World Cup victories and stood on the podium 12 times. Perhaps the pinnacle of his career was earning the prestigious Slalom Crystal Globe, a testament to his incredible talent and dedication.

His decision to step away from the sport that brought him fame and accolades was a bittersweet moment, but it was made at a place that holds deep significance in his heart—the very location where he clinched his first World Cup victory.

« I’m done, it's over for me » he explained. « For the first time in at least six months, I'm happy after making this decision. For the first time in years, I feel free. » said the Norwegian at his press conference this morning.
