2022 Super G World Cup Finals

Heading into the supe- G World Cup Finals, the globe winners for both the men’s and women’s were already known.
Federica Brignone (ITA) sat a top of the women’s super-G cup standings to claim her first-ever globe in the discipline. The victory was also a step forward for the women’s Italian ski team as Brignone became the first female Italian to with the small globe.
Aleksander Aamodt Kilde (NOR) secured his second super-G globe after winning on home soil in Kvitfjell (NOR) earlier this month. It was the Norwegian’s first victory on home soil and his fourth super-G victory of the season.
In today's men's race, Vincent Kriechmayr (AUT) came back from an up-and-down season to earn the win. It added to his the downhill victory yesterday. Marco Odermatt (SUI) ended in second place in today’s race, making it his fourth super-G podium of the season. Teammate Gino Caviezel, finished in third to claim his first-ever super-G World Cup podium. Kilde finished in fourth, 0.88 seconds behind the winner.
In the women's race, Norway’s Ragnhild Mowinckel claimed her first super-G World Cup victory. Finishing second, Mikaela Shiffrin (USA) fell 0.05 seconds short. Super-G Olympic bronze medallist, Michelle Gisin (SUI), finished in third and claimed her second super-G World Cup podium of the season.
Shiffrin's second place finish was also enough for her to capture the Overall Title. Leading Petra Vlhova by 236 points, and two races to go, the Slovakian cannot overtake the American. Shiffrin will lift the big globe for the fourth time.
With the speed events complete at the World Cup Finals, the tech events are up next. Heading over to Meribel (FRA), athletes will take part in the mixed team parallel tomorrow, and giant slalom and slalom the following days. The mixed team parallel race is scheduled to start at 12:00 CET.
