Heading into the last men’s speed race of the Audi FIS men's World Cup tour before the Finals, all eyes were on Aleksander Aamodt Kilde (NOR) and Marco Odermatt (SUI) as they were the only two to secure super-G victories this season. Kilde delivered, while Odermatt fell short.

After being on the podium in Kvitfjell (NOR) many times, Kilde, finally made it to the top spot, earning his first World Cup victory on home snow. The victory secured the small globe in super-G, the second time he earned the small globe in the discipline.

Breathing down Kilde’s neck was Canadian, James Crawford, clocking in a time only 0.07 seconds behind. Crawford has been catching many people’s eyes this season after a personal best fifth-place finish in Wengen (SUI), winning the bronze medal in the alpine combined in Beijing (CHN), and today securing his first World Cup podium finish.

Matthias Mayer (AUT) finished 0.12 seconds behind Kilde to claim third place, his second podium finish in the last three days.

Reining Kvitfjell super-G winner, Dominik Paris (ITA), was just off the mark in 4th place, only 0.09 seconds behind Mayer.

The top 25 athletes in the downhill and Super G cup standings will now prepare themselves for the Finals which will be taking place in Courchevel/Meribel (FRA) from the 14th-20th March.
