After the end of the past Olympic cycle, three significant athletes from the French Team had announced their retirement. Jean-Marc Gaillard, Baptiste Gros and Adrien Backscheider are no longer to be found on the team's nomination lists. Nevertheless, the French Team strikes with a line-up of Sprint experts on the mens side and strong distance athletes on the womens side. In addition, core athletes such as Maurice Manificat, who bring in the experience of 16 years of World Cup racing, in combination with the young guns such as Hugo Lapalus, the 15km U23 World Champion from 2021, spice up the great team performances of the French team.
