Not only the FIS Rollerski World Cup in Norway started out the hot summer days with high level Rollerski competitions – also the Finnish Team set out to compete among the elite level at the traditional Vuokatin Aateli Race.

Latest since the FIS Junior and U23 World Championships in 2021, Vuokatti has a name also with the younger generation of Cross-Country skiers – nationally and internationally. For the Finnish National Team, it is custom to participate at the two day-event at the end of June.

With a running competition and a rollerski session on the following day, it was time to see where the shape and the performances are at before heading into the summer trainings.

Iivo Niskanen ran, sprinted and roller skied to the top of all results list but always had Remi Lindholm on his heels. At the 15km Rollerski competition, Lindholm finished 14 seconds after Niskanen and 17 seconds before Arsi Ruuskanen.

Kerttu Niskanen took the lead in the womens 10km Rollerski race with a comfortable margin of 12 seconds to Eveliina Piippo and 40 seconds to Qinghua Ma from the Chinese team.

Both Niskanen’s thus claim the overall victories and put the hammer down to mark another successful Cross-Country season coming up in a few months.
