The 6th FIS Coordination group meeting for the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships Planica 2023 was held from 19th to 22nd October 2021. Along the inspecton participants were members of FIS - including Secretary General Michel Vion-,  Infront, the LOC, Ski Association of Slovenia with Director Uroš Zupan, and the local Municipality of Kranjska Gora.

27 departments of organization, their status and updates were presented by the organizers Secretary General Tomaž Šušteršič. With the excellent infrastructure already in place, Planica is fully on course for the Nordic World Ski Championships 2023.

A special feature will be the course for the Cross-Country's 30km and 50km competition. The A-B race will start in Tarvisio, Italy and cross international boarders during the race, finishing in Planica.

Together with the TV director team and Infront, especially broadcast operations were discussed in the field. As the venues of the Ski Jumping hill and the Cross-Country stadium are closeby, installations can be used in a efficient way. A highlight of the Nordic WSC would also mark the 30km / 50km Cross-Country course that is foreseen to start in Tarvisio (ITA) and to cross international boarders during the race to Planica (SLO). Results of the inspection for broadcasting operations on this course will now prove the feasability of this course option.

After the meetings and on-site inspections all stakeholders agreed that the preparations are right on track and the cooperation among the partners are on the highest level.

The next coordination group meeting will be held in Planica in April 2022.
