After several years of extensive work by the SBFSFK Rules Advisary Group - chaired ably for the past nine seasons by Stefano Arnold - along with the input of ranking members of various National Ski & Snowboard Associations from around the world, the updated and harmonized FIS Snowboard, Freestyle & Freeski Rule Books are now online HERE.

Amongst many developments, refinements and harmonisations within the updated Rule Books, some key points of note include:

a) the updated SBFSFK ICR that now contains a Chapter for the common AE/MO/DM Rules (4000)
b) the updated FIS Points Rule Book that now contains a Chapter dedicated to Park & Pipe
c) the updated World Cup Rule Book that now contains a Chapter for the common WCSL Rules
d) the updated Continental Cup Book
e) the Precisions, Information and Instructions for the Northern Hemisphere

Of special note are the Precisions which explain the changes implemented in the various Rules Books within the new Chapters, list the various Rule Changes, and show all COVID 19 related Precisions that are valid only for the 2020/21 Season. The COVID 19 Precisions will prevail over their respective Rules during this Season 2020/21. Further, the implementation of the Ban on Fluorinated Waxes was postponed until the 2021/22 competition season.

With the completion of this herculean task, Stefano Arnold has stepped down as the Chair of the SBFSRK Rules Advisary Group after 18 years of service - including nine of years as the Chair - and we at FIS would like to offer our sincerest gratitude for a job well (and tirelessly) done.

Stepping in to fill Mr. Arnold's shoes as chair will be a figure who is no stranger to the FIS Snowboard, Freestyle & Freeski family, as Chris Robinson will now assume the role. Chair of the Freestyle Committee from 1999 to 2018 (along with many, many other roles in and around the winter sports world), Robinson will be more than up to the task as we move forward through these challenging times.
