After his disqualification in Ruka, Jarl Magnus Riiber is back on the sunny side in the Provisional Competition Round in Ramsau am Dachstein. With a jump to 95 meters and 134.4 points, he put himself ahead of Espen Bjoernstad (95.5 meters, 129.3 points), who had missed the first Viessmann FIS Nordic Combined World Cup weekend in Ruka because he became a father. Rank 3 in the PCR went to Ryota Yamamota from Japan (94.5 meters, 125.6 points).

With his performance, Riiber claimed the pole position and a 20-second head start on his teammate Bjørnstad. Yamamoto would leave the start gate a further 15 seconds after Bjørnstad, should the PCR have to be used.

Jens Lurås Oftebro (91.5m, 125.3p.), Terence Weber (93m, 125.1p.) and Johannes Lamparter (91m, 124.9p.) followed on rank four, five and six and would start their races +0:36, +0:37 and +0:38 after the leader should the PCR have to be used in case of bad weather on Saturday or Sunday.

Fast German skiers Vinzenz Geiger and Fabian Rießle, who both have a really good track record in Ramsau also showed good performances today. Geiger was ninth with +0:42 seconds to make up in a race and Rießle would follow at +0:46 seconds.

Unfortunately, the PCR was overshadowed by a fall of local hero Franz-Josef Rehrl, who was not able to land his jump to 97.5 meters and tore his ACL. He was immediately taken to the hospital in Schladming, where he underwent an MRI in which the diagnosis was made. He was then taken to the Diakonissenkrankenhaus in Linz where he will undergo surgery.
