Simen Tiller celebrates his second Continental Cup victory in Klingenthal

After two windy days on Friday and Saturday St. Peter finally had an understanding for the FIS Continental Cup athletes in Klingenthal and offered perfect conditions on Sunday morning.
However, once again it was Simen Tiller, who landed the longest jump to 141.5m (140.3 p.) and was to start the cross-country race with bib number one. This time however, also Espen Andersen was able to show his true strength with a jump on 140.0m (133.3 p.), which brought him 28 seconds behind his teammate. Rank 3 after jumping went to Austria’s strong ski jumper Christian Deuschl (135.5m, 127.7p.), 50 seconds behind Tiller.
Leif Torbjoern Naesvold (135.5m, 125.8p.), Saturday’s winner Manuel Einkemmer (133.0m, 124.7p.) and Philipp Orter (133.0m, 119.8p.) followed on rank four, five and six. The strong cross-country skiers Jakob Lange (127.5m, 112.4p.) and birthday boy Lars Buraas (107.0m, 78.9p.) were a bit unlucky with their jump and ended up on rank 12 and 49.
Just like on Friday in the 5km Gundersen event Tiller was able to celebrate a clear start-finish-victory. He never let Andersen get any closer to him. Behind the two Norwegians however, there was an intense battle for the third spot on the podium. Einkemmer, Orter and Naesvold once again proved their strength in both disciplines and stayed together throughout the race.
Behind them, Lange showed that he belongs to be best cross-country skiers and made up position by position until after four laps he had reached the Austrian-Norwegian group. They all went together on the last short climb into the finish area, where Lange and Naesvold were able to pass by the two Austrians. In the final sprint the German was able to keep ahead of the Norwegian by a few centimeters and celebrated another Continental Cup podium.
The fastest cross-country time once again went to Lars Buraas, who made up 31 places and ended up on rank 18.
