Coming up: World Cup Finals in Schonach

The last World Cup weekend 2021/22 is here and the Viessmann FIS Nordic Combined World Cup returns to Schonach (GER), to end its season in traditional manner.
After a two-year break, the finals return to the Black Forest with also the Nordic Combined women joining the competition weekend in Schonach for the first time.
The impressive Schwarzwaldpokal, steeped in the history of the discipline, is up for grabs on Saturday for the men, after an Individual Gundersen competition for both genders, before the Nordic Combined Awards are given out after the ceremony.
On Sunday, another two individual events are scheduled as well as the ceremonies for the overall winners of the World Cup.
While Norwegian Gyda Westvold Hansen is already the women’s overall World Cup winner 2022 with a 289-point lead over Ida Marie Hagen, the men's fight for the yellow bib is on between current leader Johannes Lamparter (1202 pts) and Norwegian Jarl Magnus Riiber (1183 pts), who secured a double-victory in Oslo (NOR) last week.
Therefore, the event on Sunday will show who wins the overall World Cup and is awarded the famous crystal globe.
On home soil, Manuel Faisst from the Black Forest and Vinzenz Geiger, third overall in the World Cup ranking, are also favourites for the podium in Schonach.
