Czech veteran Lukas Hlava has decided to end his career as a ski jumper, but he will stay involved in the sport also in the future.

The 34-year-old, who was competing in the World Cup since 2003 and achieved his only podium finish with a third place in Lahti (FIN) in March 2012, will become a part of the coaching staff of the Czech team and will work together with head coach David Jiroutek, Antonin Hajek and Jakub Jiroutek.

For the members of the Czech national team 2019/20, Roman Koudelka, Viktor Polasek, Cestmir Kozisek, Tomas Vancura, Filip Sakala, and Vojtech Stursa, the preparation for the upcoming season has already started.

"During this first period of training, we are focusing especially on tapping the full potential of the jumpers. Another challenge will be to increase the mental capacity of the athletes. In order to achieve that, we have to work with each athlete individually, but the basic concept applies to the entire team", said David Jiroutek.

Karolina Indrackova, Stepanka Ptackova, and Zdenka Pesatova were named to the ladies' national team for 2019/20.
