Manuel Fettner was able to once again impressively show the great shape, in which he presented himself in this summer's Continental Cup events, in the final competition of the season on Sunday.

The 36-year-old Austrian, who took part in eight COC's this summer and had a fourth place as his worst result, won this season's final in Klingenthal (GER) with jumps of 136.5 m and 143 m and a total of 274.8 points. With this success, Manuel Fettner also secured his clear win of the overall ranking of the Continental Cup in summer 2021.
"I'm very satisfied with my jumping this summer, it was on a really good level and totally consistent. That was my main goal, the second goal was to earn the quota spot for the winter and I'm very happy that I could achieve both goals this summer", said Manuel Fettner, who is already looking to the winter now. "In winter I want to be in the Top 10 in the World Cup and, of course, the Olympics are a big goal as well. But you have to take everything step by step and continue to work."

Jakub Wolny of Poland, who started the weekend in the Vogtland-Arena with the 17th place on Saturday, came in second today with 133.5 m and 138.5 m and 262.1 points. The third place went to Lovro Kos of Slovenia, who confirmed his second place in Saturday's competition with 135 m and 138.5 m and 261.4 points.

Very strong performances were also shown on Sunday by Ren Nikaido and Claudio Haas. The 20-year-old Japanese narrowly missed the podium by only 0.1 points, but in fourth he could still celebrate the best result of his career so far. Claudio Haas was fifth and the by far best German in this competition, this result is also a career-best for him.

The two Russians Roman Trofimov and Mikhail Nazarov finished sixth and seventh, they were followed by the two Norwegians Bendik Jakobsen Heggli and Joacim Oedegaard Bjoereng in eighth and ninth. The young Slovene Rok Masle was tenth.

Manuel Fettner took the overall win of the Continental Cup 2021 with 650 points, followed by his teammate Mika Schwann (517 points) and Norway's Fredrik Villumstad (399 points).
