Norway's Marius Lindvik won the final competition of the World Cup weekend in Willingen. On the HS 147 Muehlenkopf-hill, Lindvik came in ahead of Karl Geiger (GER) and Slovenia's Cene Prevc. With his second place, Karl Geiger took back the overall World Cup lead from Ryoyu Kobayashi.

The Ski Jumping World Cup remains extremely exciting. Karl Geiger took back the yellow bib, that he just lost to Ryoyu Kobayashi yesterday. "It was a really cool competition today and I had two good jumps. Yesterday I was struggling with the conditions, but it's an outdoor sport. Today my jumps were good again and I did what I had to do. I'm very satisfied with this second place", said Geiger, who now has a lead of just three points over Kobayashi. The Japanese made up a lot of ground with a fantastic final jump, but with the fourth place, he could not defend the overall lead.

Today's winner Marius Lindvik said after the competition: "It was a difficult competition for the jury, but I think they did a good job. Of course, it's a lifetime goal to win a medal at Olympic Games, but I'll take one day at a time. I'll keep on working and then we'll see how it goes." it was the sixth World Cup win for Lindvik, the third this season. With his success in Willingen, Lindvik is now among the top contenders for Olympic gold in Beijing.

Cene Prevc could celebrate his first-ever World Cup podium: "Both of my jumps were excellent today, I really don't care which one was better. I'm really happy that I could achieve my first podium in the World Cup. Maybe one day I can improve this result and get a step higher. This weekend showed me that I'm doing something right and I can go to the Olympics even calmer now. "

Stefan Kraft and Thomas Lackner of Austria came in sixth and seventh, Markus Eisenbichler was 11th.

The first medal event for the ski jumpers at the Olympic Games will be held on February 6th, when the Olympic champion on the normal hill will be crowned. The mixed team competition then follows already on February 7th.
