2025/26 FIS Freeski Park & Pipe World Cup – Secret Garden Halfpipe World Cup Stat Sheet
● This season there are five Halfpipe World Cup events, the same number as in the 2024/25 season. Competitions will take place in Secret Garden (CHN); Copper Mountain (USA); Calgary (CAN), Aspen (USA); and Silvaplana (SUI). Aspen will be the last chance for Halfpipe athletes to qualify for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games.
● Secret Garden was added to the Freeski World Cup calendar in the 2017/18 season, having previously hosted five Freeski Halfpipe events to date. Secret Garden also played host to Beijing 2022 Olympic halfpipe competition.
Secret Garden Halfpipe World Cup – Men
● Alex Ferreira (USA) topped the 2024/25 Halfpipe World Cup standings. Nick Goepper (USA) was second and Brendan Mackay (CAN) third.
● Alex Ferreira’s (USA) 2024/25 Halfpipe Crystal Globe was his second consecutive Globe and the third of his career. He also holds one Park & Pipe Overall Crystal Globe from 2023/24.
● Alex Ferreira (USA) is tied with Kevin Rolland (FRA) as the most successful Halfpipe World Cup athlete with three Crystal Globes each.
● Alex Ferreira (USA) leads the all-time Halfpipe World Cup victories list with 11 to his credit. David Wise (USA) has seven; Aaron Blunck (USA) and Kevin Rolland (FRA) have six apiece.
● Alex Ferreira (USA) is on a streak of 10 consecutive Halfpipe World Cup podium finishes. He won all five 2023/24 events and in 2024/25 claimed two wins in Copper and Aspen, two runner-up spots in Cardrona (NZL) and Secret Garden (CHN), and third place in Calgary (CAN).
● With his third-place finish at the 2024/25 season finale in Calgary, Alex Ferreira (USA) leads the all-time list of most Halfpipe World Cup podiums. Ferreira now has 20 top-three finishes ahead of David Wise (USA) on 19 and Aaron Blunck (USA) on 15.
● A three-time Olympic Slopestyle medalist and two-time Slopestyle World Cup winner, Nick Goepper (USA) switched to Halfpipe before the 2023/24 season. After claiming one podium finish in his first Halfpipe season, Goepper finished on the podium in every 2024/25 World Cup event he contested and finished second in the Halfpipe World Cup standings.
● Brendan Mackay (CAN) has finished within the top 10 for 18 consecutive World Cup events since February 2020 at Mammoth Mountain (USA). Mackay has claimed a podium finish in 11 of these 18 events, including three victories. Mackay won the Halfpipe Crystal Globe in 2021/2022.
● Finley Melville Ives (NZL) finished inside the top 10 in every Slopestyle World Cup event during the 2024/25 season. The 19-year-old claimed his maiden World Cup victory and first podium finish at the Calgary season finale before winning the 2025 Halfpipe World Championships title in Engadin.
● No athlete has won in Secret Garden twice. The two most recent events were won by U.S. skiers, Nick Goepper (2024/25) and Alex Ferreira (2023/24). Canada has recorded two victories in Secret Garden: Noah Bowman (2019/20) and Simon D’Artois (2018/19).
● Except for the first edition of the Secret Garden Halfpipe World Cup during the 2017/18 season, U.S. athletes have finished on the podium at every edition since.
● Last year the U.S. Freeski team achieved its first podium sweep in Secret Garden with 1st Nick Goepper, 2nd Alex Ferreira, and 3rd David Wise. Their second podium sweep came in Aspen in February: 1st Alex Ferreira, 2nd Nick Goepper, 3rd Matthew Labaugh.
● Team China has never recorded a top-five finish in a men’s Halfpipe World Cup event. Their best result was Bingqiang Mao’s 8th place in December 2019.
Secret Garden Halfpipe World Cup – Women
● Li Fanghui (CHN) and Zoe Atkin (GBR) shared the 2024/25 Halfpipe Crystal Globe ahead of Eileen Gu (CHN). Three podium places in the season-long standings fell within a five point margin, which is the closest margin in Freeski World Cup history.
● This was the first Crystal Globe for both Li Fanghui (CHN) and Zoe Atkin (GBR). Eileen Gu (CHN) has won two Halfpipe Globes, in 2021/22 and 2023/24. Virginie Faivre (SUI) leads the all-time list with three halfpipe Globes.
● Li Fanghui (CHN) and Zoe Atkin (GBR) each finished with identical results of one victory, two second-place finishes, and a fifth-place finish during the 2024/25 season.
● Zoe Atkin (GBR) is the current Halfpipe World Champion. She is the most successful British Halfpipe athlete with 10 World Cup podiums and the only British skier to win a Halfpipe World Cup event.
● Li Fanghui (CHN) claimed her maiden Halfpipe World Cup win at the 2024/25 season finale in Calgary. Before the 2024/25 season in which Li claimed two second-place finishes, she never finished higher than third in her four previous seasons on the circuit.
● Eileen Gu (CHN), the reigning Olympic champion, is the most successful Halfpipe skier in FIS World Cup history. She has recorded 14 wins, 16 podiums and 17 top-10 results from the 17 World Cup events she has contested.
● Eileen Gu (CHN) won the first three events of the 2024/25 season before missing the last two due to injury. In Secret Garden she will be making her first Halfpipe World Cup appearance since her win in Copper Monutain (USA) in December 2024.
● Eileen Gu (CHN) has won the last five consecutive Halfpipe World Cup events she has contested.
● Rachel Karker’s (CAN) top-three finish in the 2024/25 season finale in Calgary allowed her to equal Eileen Gu (CHN) for the most Halfpipe World Cup podiums: 16. Karker is a two-time Halfpipe Crystal Globe winner and holds the longest streak of 13 consecutive podium finishes, which lasted from Copper Mountain in December 2019 until Cardrona (NZL) in September 2024.
● Eileen Gu (CHN) leads the overall Freeski Park & Pipe World Cup field with 18 victories. Gu has 14 wins in Halfpipe and three in Slopestyle. Tess Ledeux (FRA) is second behind Gu with 17 wins - 13 in Slopestyle and four wins in Big Air. Trailing the pair is Mathilde Gremaud (SUI) with 15 total wins (nine in Big Air, six in Slopestyle).
● Chinese athletes have stepped on the women’s podium in 13 consecutive Halfpipe World Cup events since Calgary in January 2023, including 11 outright victories. Nine of those 11 wins were achieved by Eileen Gu. Zhang Kexin and Li Fanghui have secured one victory each.
● Chinese athletes won four out of the five previous Secret Garden Halfpipe World Cup events: Zhang Kexin in 2017/18 and 2018/19; Eileen Gu in 2023/24 and 2024/25. Valeriya Demidova (RUS) won the 2019/20 event.
