Sunny weather highlights Day 1 performances at Junior World Championships in Chiesa in Valmalenco

The 2024 FIS Freestyle Junior World Championships in Chiesa in Valmalenco kicked off under perfect sunny skies, providing an ideal backdrop for the world's best young freestyle skiers to showcase their talents. The aerials competition was fierce, and the athletes did not disappoint, delivering outstanding performances across the board.

In the women's category, Jinyi Shen from China took home the gold, demonstrating exceptional skill and precision on her back Full-Full. Her compatriot, Xinyi Yang, secured the silver medal, making it a memorable day for the Chinese team, while Anhelina Brykina from Ukraine showed great determination and skill to claim the bronze, adding to the excitement of the competition.

The men's category saw Alexandre Duchaine from Canada clinch the gold medal with an impressive display of athleticism and technique on his double Full double Full. Miha Fontaine, also from Canada, captured the silver medal, showcasing the depth of talent in the Canadian team with a similarly executed double Full double Full in the finals. The bronze medal went to Connor Curran from the USA, who put on a strong performance to round out the podium.

The action in Chiesa in Valmalenco continues on Friday, with the aerials mixed team event scheduled for the morning at 10:00 CET. The excitement will carry on with the moguls events, starting with qualifications at 12:00 and culminating in the finals at 15:00.
