As the 2024/25 ski season winds down in the Northern Hemisphere, focus extends beyond the World Cup stage—headlined by the World Championships in St. Moritz—to the vital development ground of the Continental Cup level. In Europe, the FIS Freestyle European Cup once again served as a key proving ground for emerging athletes aiming to make their mark on the international scene.

This season's European Cup tour featured eight double events held across seven countries, with competitions in Ruka (FIN), Duved (SWE), Jyväskylä (FIN), Montafon/Golm (AUT), Bila (CZE), and two stops in Airolo (SUI). The calendar included five events combining moguls and dual moguls, and three focused exclusively on aerials—providing a dense and highly competitive platform for up-and-coming talent across the freestyle disciplines. Notably, the European Cup stop in Montafon also served as the official test event for the 2027 FIS Freestyle World Championships, delivering a high-quality competition that demonstrated the venue's strong readiness to host top-tier international events.

Aerials

Starting with the women, Oksana Yatsiuk (UKR) led the way, scoring 331 points across six competitions. On the strength of two victories, she claimed the 2024/25 European Cup title, improving on her runner-up finish from the previous season.

Second place went to Lina Kozomara (SUI), who finished close behind with 324 points, while Laura Peel (AUS) rounded out the podium in third with 300 points. The 2024/25 World Cup champion, Peel competed in just three European Cup events but won all three, showcasing the elite form that defined her season.

On the men’s side, it was Noé Roth (SUI) who topped the standings to close out a spectacular season. The Swiss star finished second in the overall World Cup standings after a season-long battle with Qi Guangpu (CHN), and he earned two medals at the World Championships, including gold in the individual event, securing his status as back-to-back World Champion.

Despite appearing in just four European Cup events, Roth claimed two wins and two runner-up finishes to total 360 points, earning him his fourth career European Cup title—and his first since 2020.

Maksym Kuznietsov (UKR) secured second place with 321 points, followed by fellow Ukrainian Dmytro Kotovskyi in third with 305 points.

Moguls

It was a standout season for the Swedish Moguls Team, which dominated the European Cup tour with remarkable consistency and depth. Across both men's and women's competitions, Sweden collected an astonishing 42 podium finishes and claimed victory in 19 out of 20 events. Their collective performance secured six top spots in the women’s rankings and eight in the men’s, across moguls, dual moguls, and the overall standings—culminating in a well-earned Nations Cup title.

On the women's side, Elis Lundholm (SWE) emerged as the overall leader with 920 points, claiming six wins and four second-place finishes. She topped the dual moguls and overall moguls standings, while finishing second in the moguls-specific ranking. Teammate Nova Nilsson (SWE) took second overall with 760 points, leading the moguls ranking thanks to four victories and a total of eight podium finishes. Lise Bertrand (FRA) completed the women’s podium in third place with 472 points, securing third place across all three discipline rankings.

On the men’s side, Sweden continued its dominance by sweeping the top four positions in the overall standings. Gordon Berg (SWE) led the charge with 726 points, winning the overall moguls classification, finishing first in dual moguls, and third in moguls. He tallied three victories and eight podiums throughout the season. Close behind was Jakob Hansson Mathisen (SWE) with 712 points, while Karl Warm (SWE) rounded out the podium in third with 621 points.

Reflecting on the 2024/25 European Cup season, the tour once again proved to be an essential platform for the development of freestyle skiing talent across the continent. Top-ranked athletes earned valuable quota spots for the upcoming FIS World Cup season, taking the next step toward international success.

The European Cup continues to serve as a crucial proving ground—offering high-level competition, exposure to diverse venues, and the opportunity to perform under pressure. With national teams deepening their commitment to athlete development, the tour remains a key pillar in the freestyle skiing structure, shaping the future of the sport across Europe and beyond.
