With the Aerials World Cup wrapped up and the Moguls World Cup reaching its midway point, the world’s top freestyle athletes are currently enjoying a short break from competition as they focus on final preparations for the upcoming Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games.

While the World Cup circuit pauses, the Continental Cups are stepping into the spotlight. The European Cup Moguls season got off to a strong start in Megève, France, where the first competitions of the winter welcomed more than 80 athletes. Several familiar names from the World Cup circuit were on the start list, adding extra quality to the field.

Among them was Perrine Laffont of France, one of the leading medal contenders for the Olympic Games. Laffont competed only once on the World Cup tour this season, opening the campaign in Ruka before opting for a training focused approach. As part of her final preparations, she entered the European Cup competition in Megève and quickly showed that her form is right where it needs to be.

Laffont claimed victory in the women’s Moguls event ahead of her teammate Camille Cabrol of France in second place, while Laura Berghuis of the Netherlands completed the podium in third.
On the men’s side, Arthur de Villaucourt of France delivered a strong performance to take the win, followed by Spanish brothers Oliver and Lucas Verdaguer Forn in second and third respectively.

The weekend continued with the Dual Moguls competitions, where the intensity stepped up even further. In the women’s event, Laura Berghuis backed up her singles podium with a victory, edging out Cali Carr of Great Britain in the big final. Annika Merz improved on her singles result to claim third place.

In the men’s duals, Arthur de Villaucourt completed a perfect weekend by securing his second win in Megève. Oliver Verdaguer Forn of Spain followed up with another strong performance in second place, earning his second podium of the event, while Leo Crozet of France finished third.

With the European Cup in Megève completed, the tour now moves on to Tignes, France, where another set of Moguls and Dual Moguls competitions is scheduled for 28 and 29 January. The Aerials Continental Cup will resume in Airolo, Switzerland, on 2 and 3 February, following a break of more than a month since the season opener in Ruka.

More Continental Cup action is also on the horizon around the globe. The North American Cup is set to get underway with Moguls and Dual Moguls competitions at Apex Mountain in Canada on 31 January and 1 February. In Asia, the cancellation of this week’s competition at Phoenix Park means the next Asian Cup event will take place in early March at Shymbulak Mountain Resort in Kazakhstan.

All calendars, including programs and results, can be found via the official FIS channels. Beyond the Continental Cups, there is also plenty of activity across the FIS calendar, including Junior Regional Cups and youth level events, highlighting the depth and future of freestyle skiing.

Be sure to check the calendar for events near you and continue supporting the next generation of freestyle athletes as the road to Milano Cortina 2026 continues.
