Mikael Kingsbury’s (CAN) last day of Olympic competition will have a first as Men’s Dual Moguls makes its Games debut tomorrow.

The 33-year-old had to wait until his fourth Olympic appearance to showcase head-to-head racing at the biggest stage and will make the most out of the opportunity at Livigno Aerials & Moguls Park.

I have one more shot. It's not my last race, but it's my last Games. So it's very special. I'm going to give my all, have fun.Mikael Kingsbury (CAN)

A podium finish would extend his record of Olympic medals won by a male Freestyle Skiing athlete. His collection includes Pyeongchang 2018 gold as well as Sochi 2014 and Beijing 2022 silver.

In other words, he is the man for the major moment. In all his Olympic and World Championships appearances, he has been absent from only one podium: Dual Moguls at the 2017 World Championships.

He picked up his fourth straight Dual Moguls Crystal Globe last season after another consistent campaign that included gold in Livigno in March 2025 after beating Ikuma Horishima (JPN) in the decider.

A rematch with Horishima at the Carosello 3000 venue will be a fitting swansong. The duo also battled it out in the 2025 World Championships final, with Kingsbury coming out on top.

The five-time Dual Moguls World champion said of Horishima: “He’s been one of the toughest rivals I’ve ever had to compete against, week in, week out. He’s one of the reasons I’m still here. Here’s been pushing me a lot and I hope I’ve been pushing him also.”

Horishima, second in the Dual Moguls World Cup standings last season, has literally and metaphorically been looking up to Kingsbury, who has an unprecedented 100 World Cup victories.

He's a brilliant skier. He's always technically superior, he's an inspiration in that. I've always wanted to catch up with him and I wanted to be like him when I was little. Now we are competing with each other, but he's a great rival. It's a rivalry that's very good for me. It's difficult to beat him. I just have to find a way to beat him going forward.Ikuma Horishima (JPN)

Cooper Woods (AUS) found a way on 12 February and will be looking to do the double at the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 after his surprise Moguls gold. He was fifth in Livigno, his joint-best Dual Moguls World Cup result alongside Val St. Come in 2024.

Julien Viel (CAN), winner of the only Dual Moguls World Cup stop so far this season at Val St. Come last month, is also among the contenders.

The 1/16 finals start at 10:30 CET tomorrow, with the finals beginning at 11:46.

Attention will shift to Men’s Freestyle Skiing Big Air qualification at Livigno Snow Park from 19:30 tomorrow.

Defending Olympic Big Air champion Birk Ruud (NOR) is seeking to put himself in prime position for his second gold at Milano Cortina 2026 after winning the Slopestyle title on 10 February.

Women’s Freestyle Skiing Big Air qualification gets underway at 19:30 today.

Reigning Olympic Big Air champion Eileen Gu (CHN) headlines a 29-strong field vying for 12 spots in Monday’s final.
