Following our recent preview of the 2026/27 FIS Freestyle NorAm Cup calendar, we continue our look around the Continental Cup circuit with Europe, where another exciting winter of Moguls, Dual Moguls and Aerials competition awaits.
The European Cup once again promises a packed schedule, bringing together some of the continent's most established freestyle destinations alongside an exciting new venue and the welcome return of one of the tour's historic stops. Serving as an important stepping stone between junior competition and the World Cup, the European Cup continues to play a vital role in developing the next generation of freestyle athletes.
The 2026/27 season will feature five Moguls, seven Dual Moguls and six Aerials competitions across eight venues.
The season gets underway in Ruka (FIN), where the Aerials athletes will open the campaign on December 14-15, immediately following the FIS Freestyle World Cup. Ruka has long been one of the world's premier preseason training locations for aerialists, making it a natural place to begin the European Cup season.
The Moguls tour will then get underway in the new year, travelling to Megève (FRA) for Moguls and Dual Moguls competitions on January 23-24.
The following weekend, the circuit moves to Airolo (SUI) for one of the busiest stops of the winter. Between January 29 and February 1, the Swiss resort will host Moguls, Dual Moguls and two Aerials competitions, bringing both disciplines together at the same venue.
One of the biggest highlights of next season comes the following weekend as Tošovice (Czech Republic) makes its European Cup debut. The new venue will host two Aerials competitions on February 6-7, bringing the aerials portion of the calendar to a close.
The event is spearheaded by Salt Lake City 2002 Olympic champion Aleš Valenta, whose continued efforts have played an important role in growing freestyle skiing in the Czech Republic. The competitions will also mark the country's first Aerials European Cup event since Špindlerův Mlýn hosted the tour in 2002. Fittingly, it was Valenta himself who claimed victory on home snow at that event.
While the aerialists conclude their season in the Czech Republic, the Moguls athletes will head north to Jyväskylä (FIN) for another weekend of Moguls and Dual Moguls competition.
The tour then moves to Sweden, where Duved hosts back-to-back Moguls and Dual Moguls competitions on February 13-14, before attention shifts to one of the most unique events on the calendar — the Stockholm city event, where two Dual Moguls competitions are scheduled for February 18-19.
The European Cup season concludes in Sierra Nevada (ESP), marking a highly anticipated return for one of freestyle skiing's most historic venues. Sierra Nevada has previously hosted numerous major international events, most notably the 2017 FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships, while its last European Cup appearance came back in 2010. The Spanish resort returns to the calendar with Moguls and Dual Moguls competitions on March 6-7, bringing the 2026/27 campaign to a close.
With a balanced calendar featuring established venues, exciting new destinations and the return of one of the tour's classic stops, the European Cup once again offers invaluable competition opportunities for athletes looking to progress through the FIS pathway. As one of the strongest Continental Cup circuits in the world, the tour continues to provide the ideal platform for Europe's emerging freestyle stars to take the next step toward the World Cup stage.
