The weather shaped the narrative today, with heavy snowfall and high winds affecting the Women’s Freeski Big Air in Livigno and Ski Jumping Men’s Super Team in Predazzo. Amid the conditions, history followed: Loic Meillard (SUI) secured Switzerland’s first Olympic men’s Slalom gold in 78 years to complete his medal set, while Austria claimed a breakthrough Ski Jumping title in the new Super Team format. In Livigno, a delayed Big Air final delivered another milestone as Megan Oldham (CAN) struck gold, Flora Tabanelli (ITA) earned Italy’s first Olympic Freestyle Skiing medal, and Eileen Gu (CHN) tied the all-time freestyle medal record. Storylines of the day

Today marked the final Alpine Skiing event for the men in Bormio, closing out a dramatic chapter of Milano Cortina 2026. Loic Meillard (SUI) completed his full Olympic medal set and ended Switzerland’s 78-year wait for men’s Slalom gold, adding the title to the silver and bronze he had already captured at these Games. The Swiss world champion kept his composure in a tense second run after first-run leader Atle Lie McGrath (NOR) straddled, handing Meillard his third medal of the campaign. Fabio Gstrein (AUT) produced a career-defining performance for silver, while Henrik Kristoffersen (NOR) claimed bronze in a race shaped by heavy snowfall and a string of DNFs, where Meillard’s Swiss precision ultimately made the difference.

I had to give it all and try my best. And when I saw some green, I was like, amazing. A third medal, third race. You never know if it's going to be gold or not. Loic Meillard (SUI) on the feelings he had on his way to the title

The day also marked an emotional farewell for AJ Ginnis (GRE), who brought his remarkable career to a close on Olympic snow.

I'm a kid who grew up in Athens, Greece. I spent 16 years in Greece and grew up 200 yards from the ocean. To be able to stand here today – everything ski racing has given me in life, a college degree, security and, most importantly, friends who will stay with me forever. If you could have told that to a 10-year-old AJ and his parents, they would have never believed it. AJ Ginnis (GRE) after bringing his career to a close

Freestyle Skiing Women's Freeski Big Air

Megan Oldham (CAN) rose to the moment in Livigno, landing two clutch runs to dethrone Eileen Gu (CHN) and capture Olympic Big Air gold after a weather-delayed final. Flora Tabanelli (ITA), competing with a torn ACL, delivered a stunning final jump to secure bronze and Italy’s first-ever Olympic Freestyle Skiing medal. Gu claimed silver to earn her fifth Olympic medal in five starts, tying the all-time freestyle record. On a night where four athletes broke the 90-point barrier in the opening round, progression, resilience and history shared centre stage.

It feels incredible. I'm still trying to process it all. It's been such a dream of mine. I'm so proud of myself for being able to come out here and land the tricks that I wanted tonight and to show my best skiing and just make Canada proud. Megan Oldham (CAN)

Ski Jumping Men's Super Team

Austria ended their wait for a ski jumping medal in Milano Cortina winning the inaugural Men’s Super Team gold as Jan Hoerl and Stephan Embacher led from the opening jump. A heavy snowstorm forced the cancellation of the final round, locking in the standings after two jumps. Poland surged to silver, giving debutant Kacper Tomasiak a third medal of the Games while Norway climbed from sixth after round one to snatch bronze.

The last 10 days were hard, we had no medal. But now the last chance we have a medal and it’s gold. I don’t know what to say, it’s crazy, unbelievable. Jan Hoerl (GER)
