FIS is saddened to learn of the passing of Mario Colombo, President of Colmar, who died at the age of 71 following a sudden illness.
A leading figure in the winter sports industry, Colombo played a key role in developing Colmar into a globally recognised brand, while preserving its deep connection to Alpine Skiing.
Born in Monza and part of the third generation of the Colombo family, he joined the company in the early 1970s and later took over its leadership, contributing significantly to its international growth in both performance and lifestyle sportswear.
His passing represents a significant loss for the ski community and the wider winter sports family.
FIS extends its sincere condolences to his family, friends and all those at Colmar.
