2025/26 Visa FIS Snowboard Alpine World Cup – Scuol Statistics Sheet

● Scuol will host the fifth stage of the Visa FIS Snowboard Alpine World Cup, and it will be the ninth time the World Cup visits Scuol. The venue made its FIS Snowboard Alpine World Cup debut in 2018.

● Tim Mastnak (SLO) won the first ever men’s Parallel Giant Slalom in Scuol back in 2018, ahead of Oskar Kwiatkowski (POL) and Nevin Galmarini (SUI). This race marked the first World Cup win for Mastnak, who has won three more since then. It was also the first ever World Cup podium for Kwiatkowski, who currently has eight World Cup podiums and is a former world champion. He is seeking his first World Cup podium since the 2022-23 season.

● Ester Ledecka (CZE) won the first ever women’s Parallel Giant Slalom in Scuol in 2018, ahead of Alena Zavarzina (RUS) and Ladina Jenny (SUI). 2017-18 was the last season for Zavarzina, who retired at the end of that season after taking part in her third Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang.

● Last year's Men's Parallel Giant Slalom Word Cup race in Scuol was won by the eventual Crystal Globe winner Maurizio Bormolini (ITA), ahead of Dominik Burgstaller (AUT) and Andreas Prommegger (AUT). Prommegger also came third in Scuol in 2023 and 2024 and will attempt to extend his Scuol podium streak to four.

● Last year’s Women’s Parallel Giant Slalom World Cup race in Scuol was won by Aleksandra Krol-Walas (POL), ahead of Tsubaki Miki (JPN) and Tomoka Takeuchi (JPN). This was the second World Cup win for Krol-Walas, three years after her first win in 2022. She made the podium twice since then, but Scuol is her last World Cup win to date.

● Arvid Auner (AUT) won the Davos Men’s Parallel Slalom in Davos before the Christmas break, ahead of Gabriel Messner (ITA) and Aaron March (ITA). It was the second win in a row for Auner in Davos, as he also won the 2024 race. Out of four individual World Cup wins, three of them came from Parallel Slalom and only one in Parallel Giant Slalom. This was also the first Men’s World Cup race of the season which was not won by an Italian athlete, as Italy has won the first four races of the season, with four different athletes.

● Elisa Caffont (ITA) won the Davos Women’s Parallel Slalom in Davos before the Christmas break, ahead of Zuzana Maderova (CZE) and Tsubaki Miki (JPN). This was the first ever World Cup win for Caffont, who had eight previous World Cup podiums but was still missing the victory. It was the fourth World Cup podium for Maderova, who is still seeking her first World Cup win.

● Aaron March (ITA) is currently leading the Men’s Parallel standings, 64 points ahead of his countryman Maurizio Bormolini (ITA). There are currently three Italian athletes in the top four and no non-European male athletes in the top 10. The top non-European athlete is Sangho Lee (KOR) in 16th position. Only three countries are represented in the top 11 athletes: Italy with six athletes, Austria with four athletes and Germany with Stefan Baumeister (GER).

● Sabine Payer (AUT) is leading the overall Women’s Parallel standing, 27 points ahead of last season Women’s Parallel champion Tsubaki Miki (JPN). Elisa Caffont (ITA) is currently in third position. 16 years old Malena Zamfirova (BUL) is currently 7th and is seeking her first career World Cup win.

● Maurizio Bormolini (ITA) won the 2024-25 Men’s overall Parallel title ahead of Andreas Prommegger (AUT) and Daniele Bagozza (ITA). Only Italy and Austria were represented in the top 5 of the final 2024-25 season Parallel standings. Fourth and fifth place were taken by Italian and Austrian athletes: Gabriel Messner (ITA), fourth, and Benjamin Karl (AUT), the current Olympic champion, fifth.

● Tsubaki Miki (JPN) won the 2024-25 Women’s Parallel title ahead of Ramona Theresia Hofmeister (GER) and Sabine Payer (AUT). This was Miki’s first Parallel title after she finished second the previous season. The same three athletes were in the first three positions of the 2023-24 season Parallel standings, with Hofmeister first, Miki second and Payer third.

● The current Olympic champion Benjamin Karl (AUT) is the athlete with the most Men’s Parallel titles, with four: 2007-08, 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2023-24.

● Andreas Prommegger (AUT) won the Men’s Parallel title three times, and could tie his countryman Benjamin Karl (AUT) at four titles should he win the title this season. Prommegger has the most career top 3 finishes in the overall Men’s Parallel standings, he finished second five times and third twice. He is currently 11th in the Parallel standings.

● The last time there were no Italians or Austrian athletes in the top three of the Men’s Parallel standing was in the 2005-06 season, when Switzerland placed three athletes in the top three.

● By winning the 2024-25 Parallel title, Tsubaki Miki (JPN) became the first non-European female athlete to win the Women’s Parallel title.

● Ramona Theresia Hofmeister (GER) and Ester Ledecka (CZE) have won four Women’s Parallel titles each, no other female athlete has ever won more than three Parallel titles. Ledecka is the only athlete, in both genders, to have won four consecutive Parallel titles, between 2015-16 and 2018-19. Neither has competed yet in the World Cup this season with Ledecka (CZE) focusing on Alpine Skiing and Hofmeister (GER) rehabbing an offseason injury.
