The slopes of the Lonquimay Volcano at Ski Corralco delivered one of the standout stops of the Ford Chile Winter Series Visa 2025, hosting thrilling Ski Cross and Snowboard Cross competitions. More than 70 athletes from eight nations competed in world-class conditions, with the Canadian team dominating the podium and Chilean riders celebrating a historic achievement.

In Ski Cross, World Champion Reece Howden secured victory in the men’s final, while India Sherret, making a strong return from injury, topped the women’s category — underlining Canada’s strength in the discipline. For Chile’s Aymara Viel and Mateo Racloz, the weekend ended in style as they claimed the overall South American Cup titles, a perfect conclusion to their remarkable continental season.

The Snowboard Cross races were equally competitive, with Evan Bichon taking the men’s win and Audrey Mcmaniman and Lara Walsh standing out in the women’s event.

“The combination of top-level experiences for the athletes, the stunning scenery of our mountain range, and the presence of the world’s best competitors creates an unparalleled and unique mix in this part of the world,” said competition director and former Olympian Jorge Mandrú.

The Ford Chile Winter Series Visa has established itself as one of the premier winter sports events in the region, offering valuable points on the road to the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games.
