Andes Cup brings Park & Pipe action to Valle Nevado

The South American Cup circuit arrived in the Chilean mountains with a spectacular level; more than 90 Freeski and Snowboard athletes from 11 countries made headlines in Valle Nevado.

The Southern Hemisphere season has just delivered one of the most intense competitions of this 2026. With the Valle Nevado snowpark in excellent condition after the recent snowfalls and sunny days, the athletes knew the stage was set for massive runs. The Andes Cup by Oakley (an official stop of the FIS South American Cup) brought together outstanding international and local competitors, all focused on scoring key points to qualify for international circuits such as the World Cup, World Championships, and Continental Cups.

Given the level of the athletes, the quality of the circuit, and the great organization, the Andes Cup was one of the most important competitions of recent times in South America.

Freeski: Dominique Ohaco Maintains Her Dominance 

In the Women's Freeski category, the standout figure was once again Dominique Ohaco (three 1st place finishes). The Chilean Olympic athlete demonstrated all her experience and fluidity on the circuit, executing jumps with massive amplitude that secured her the top spot. Hot on her heels was the American Finley Good (two 2nd places, one 1st place), with highly technical and varied runs. The Chilean Javiera Rojas also had notable performances, earning three 3rd place finishes, thus cementing local talent on the podium and turning up the heat in the battle for the South American Cup.

The Freeski men put on a high-impact show with a strong international presence and fierce competition. American Logan Parham managed to dominate the Big Air, while Gen Fuji (Japan) and Shane Good (USA) took the victories in Slopestyle. South Americans Ulises Dobal and Cristobal Colombo (Argentina) also managed to step onto the podium, while Francisco Salas led the results for the Chileans with solid top-10 finishes. The level of Freeskiing was truly sky-high.

Snowboard: Spains Unai López Sousa Surprises the Locals

The men's Snowboard competition was characterized by its high level of difficulty. Although the Chilean riders arrived with high expectations, it was Spain’s Unai López Sousa dominating proceedings. López Sousa managed to put together a spectacular week, claiming the win in all 3 competitions.

The battle for the rest of the podium was left in the hands of the local athletes: Álvaro Yáñez (CHI) managed to land his runs cleanly to secure second place in all three events. Third place, meanwhile, went to the rider from Pucón, Pedro Pizarro (CHI), who once again stood out for his consistency.

In the women's division, Italy's Arianna Vergani earned one Slopestyle victory, while Estonia's Laura Anga took top spot in both the second Slopestyle competition of the week and the Big Air competition to close out the Andes Cup.

The South American Cup rolls on

The Andes Cup by Oakley reaffirmed Valle Nevado as a world-class venue, allowing the international elite and the region's talents to showcase their best level. A high level of organization, coupled with a unique Andean atmosphere, makes the Andes Cup tone of the standout competitors to take place in the Southern Hemisphere so far this season.

With the South American Cup finals coming up in Cerro Catedral (Bariloche, Argentina), the fight for the South American Cup championship is red-hot.
