China's Secret Garden Confirmed to host 2027 Park & Pipe Junior World Championships

For the first time since 2015, the FIS Park & Pipe Junior World Championships are heading to China, with the world’s best 14-18 year olds set to throw down at Secret Garden 2027 from 14-27 February.

The Secret Garden 2027 Junior World Championships were locked in this week at the the FIS Council Meetings in Thun (SUI), where the event’s confirmation was just one of the many important topics covered over two days of sessions.

One of the most consistent and consistently exceptional hosts on the World Cup calendar, as well as a standout venue for the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games, Zhangjiakou’s Secret Garden has provided the backdrop for some of the most memorable Park & Pipe competitions in the world over the past decade. 

Eileen Gu (CHN) becoming the first Freestyle skier to win three medals at a single Games, Ayumu Hirano (JPN) triple-corking his way to Snowboard Halfpipe gold, and Zoi Sadowski-Synnott (NZL) coming through with the final run heroics to claim Snowboard Slopestyle gold at Beijing 2022, as well as home snow World Cup victories over the years for Chinese stars such as Su Yiming, Cai Xuetong, and Liu Jaiyu, are some of the standout moments that spring to mind when thinking of Secret Garden.

With Chinese athletes like Patti Zhou and Jacob Li set to make their international competition debuts this season, the nation is the home of some of the most exciting names in the Junior Park & Pipe world, and this winter’s Junior World Championships in Secret Garden are likely to deliver some more memorable moments for the host nation. 

The 2027 Junior World Championships in Secret Garden will feature Slopestyle, Halfpipe, Big Air and Street Style (formerly Rail Event) competitions for both Snowboard and Freeski, with Freeski Slopestyle qualifications kicking things off on 17 February, and Street Style finals for both Freeski and Snowboard closing it down out on the 27th.
