The FIS Street Style Europa Cup season got underway on Saturday, 24 October, at SnowWorld Antwerp (BEL), with Belgium's Joewen Frijns and Germany's Marie Kuhlmann claiming the opening victories of the 2026/27 campaign.

Just two weeks after the conclusion of the Southern Hemisphere Continental Cup season, riders from 14 nations gathered in Belgium for the European opener, showcasing the creativity, progression and unique atmosphere of FIS's newest Park & Pipe discipline.

The organizing team, led by Belgian national team coach Viktor Uyttersport, experienced Street Style organizer Jacco Bos and Belgian snowboarding legend Joeri van der Vliet, transformed the indoor facility into an impressive urban-inspired Street Style playground.

Following Friday's program, which included an extensive training session, a group dinner and a movie premiere, riders were ready for Saturday's competition.

The action picked up right from the men's qualifications, with riders across four heats impressing judges and spectators with creative lines and unexpected tricks on the competition setup.

The finals took things to another level, offering a clear demonstration of the rapid progression of Street Style as a competitive discipline. With spectators lining the course, the women's and men's final jam sessions delivered what Street Style is all about: creativity, technical riding and riders pushing each other to new heights.

Kuhlmann takes women's victory

The women's final featured an exciting battle between Katja Dutu of the Netherlands and Germany's Marie Kuhlmann.

Both riders demonstrated impressive skills and consistency throughout the jam session, with Kuhlmann ultimately claiming the first Europa Cup victory of the season.

France's Anouk Tronchet also impressed with strong riding, underlining the growing international depth of the women's Street Style field.

Home victory for Frijns

After finishing third in last season's Europa Cup Street Style overall standings, Belgium's Joewen Frijns made his ambitions for the new season clear. Supported by the home crowd, Frijns delivered an outstanding performance to claim victory at the opening event.

Lithuania's Motejus Morauskas, a former participant in the FIS Development Camps, impressed with a strong second-place finish, showing how such initiatives can help young riders make their mark on the international stage.

Germany's Leon Gütl completed the podium in third place.

FULL RESULTS

The Antwerp opener once again showed what makes Street Style an exciting addition to the FIS competition calendar, bringing together progressive riding, creative urban-inspired setups and a strong community atmosphere, with athletes and spectators sharing the action up close.

The FIS Street Style Europa Cup tour continues in Innsbruck (AUT) on 21 November with a Freeski-only competition, followed by a new event in Druskininkai (LTU) on 9 December.
