Nordic weekend Andermatt test for Swiss Cross-Country elite

The Swiss Cross-Country team met up in Andermatt to compete at the traditional three day Nordic weekend from 11th to 13th September.
Around 160 Swiss Cross-Country skiers and biathletes from the Swiss-Ski team and the regional associations had to complete three competitions over three days as part of the 11th Nordic Weekend 2020 in Andermatt. In the overall standings, Nadine Fähndrich and Candide Pralong prevailed among the Cross-Country skiers.
The weekend started off with a Sprint over 3.3km in the Realp biethlon facility whereas Laurien Van der Graaff and Roman Furger took the first victories (click here to see Fridays results). On Saturday, a mass start sent the competitors off on a 4.1km track in Classic technique. Lydia Hiernickel won the womens elite category. Meanwhile, Jason Rüesch was able to take home the men's win thanks to a thrilling finish (click here to see Saturdays results).
Sundays speciality on the Nordic weekend awaited with the competition "Hit the Peak" by On. The traditional mountain run followed up to the Göscheneralp where 4.5 kilometers for women and 6.5 kilometers for men including the notorious dam wall had to be conquered.
