The Chile Winter Series took action in El Colorado

The Chile Winter Series kicked off with 2 days of extreme action in El Colorado. The El Condor slope witnessed international competition at the highest level of Alpine skiing. These competitions were the first of the International Ski Federation Circuit for the 2022/2023 season.

One of the highlights of this first date was Lara Colturi (ALB). The former children's world champion and Italian Olympic medallist Daniela Cecarelli’s daughter, who recently changed citizenship to compete for the Albanian flag, won both races by a wide margin. Colturi has a promising future ahead of her as an early international standout. For her performance she was awarded the Best Performance by Credit Suisse prize.

Miren Miquel (SPA) followed Colturi on the podium, with Marie Penelope Robinson (CAN) completing the podium. The best Chilean junior was Florencia Aramburo, who also made her debut on the international adult circuit and therefore won the Next Gen by Credit Suisse award.

In the men's category, the skiers of the Chilean team competed against their Argentinean, Italian, American and Spanish counterparts. Pietro Tranchina (ITA)  took first place in the first race while Diego Holscher (CHI) did the same in the second race. On both days South American champion Andres Figueroa won 2nd place.

El Colorado Ski Resort offered specatacular snow, sunshine and unbeatable conditions complemented by a high technical level from the competitors. The action of the Visa Chile Winter Series by Ford continues in La Parva, where 9 days of freeski, snowboard, ski cross and snowboard cross will be experienced, where the air and speed will be present on the slopes of La Parva.

This important championship awards quotas for the World Cup and is part of the world circuit of competitions endorsed by the International Ski Federation (FIS). The Chile Winter Series will include more than 9 events in 5 different Olympic disciplines such as alpine skiing, freeskiing, snowboarding, cross and cross country throughout the season in the main ski resorts of the country.

This winter sports circuit is a reality thanks to the support of the National Ski and Snowboard Sports Federation of Chile as well as the National Sports Institute (IND), the ski resorts Corralco, La Parva, El Colorado and Nevados de Chillán and the brands Visa, Ford, Monster Energy, Snickers, Hard Rock Hotels, Radio Bio Bio, Flesad, Hd Sports Magazine and Chilenieve.
