A special victory, a victory that brings with it a mix of feelings and emotions. A sad victory in some ways, but a victory full of meaning.

Mikaela Shiffrin returned to the top step of the podium after 323 days and many vicissitudes in between. Blue skies, a compact and icy surface, a difficult slope were the ingredients of the second Courchevel giant slalom where Mikaela finished the first run in the lead with the Italian duo Bassino-Brignone just 14 hundredths of a second behind and Petra Vlhova out at the penultimate gate.

The second run was a series of emotions. Tessa Worley skied in an excellent way and she recovered two positions to her first podium after Soelden 2019.

Federica Brignone made a huge mistake and almost fell, but with the determination that distinguished her, she added an extra gear and crossed the finish line with the green light in front of Tessa.

Marta Bassino ends up off the course and then Mikaela's moment arrives. She returns to skiing soft and determined, crossing the finish line in the first position and without words.

67 victories and tied with Marcel Hirscher for third place among all-time skiers.

The World Cup continues in the French Alps with the speed week in Val D'Isere.
