There is no better way to start the summer than letting your family grow. The FIS Cross-Country team congratulates all athletes and their partners who tied the knot or are on the path to become parents. An exciting new chapter for which we send our dearest wishes.

The latest news come from the Italian power couple who got married last year, Greta Laurent and Federico Pellegrino. The two announced to be expecting a baby boy!

Already some practice in a new role got Denis and Ksenia Spitsov who welcomed their first daughter Eva already on 1st March. All the very best for the new and expecting parents for those exciting, new adventures ahead!

"Happily ever after"

Ivan Yakimushkin and Olga Kucheruk headed into the newlywed life after the skiing season. The love of the 24 and 25 year-old goes beyond the shared love for Cross-Country skiing and so they celebrated their big day at the end of April in Tyumen. As of this upcoming season, Olga Kucheruk will be racing under her new name, Olga Yakimushkina.

For recently retired Swiss Sprinter Jovian Hediger, the new path led to marrying his partner Amélie Parolini on 20th May under the watch of his groomsman, former team colleague and cousin Erwan Käser. We wish the newlyweds all the best for their shared future!

Also best wishes are sent to Lucas Bögl from the German team, who married his long-time partner on a bluebird day in May in beautiful traditional fashion.

Among her closest friends and family – and with Maiken Caspersen Falla by her side as bridesmaid -  Ragnhild Haga tied the knot with Øyvind Gløersen, who is also a former skier.

Also Øyvind’s twin brother Anders, former Sprint expert in the World Cup, is heading into the “happily ever after” life with his fiancé Mari Eide, former professional skier who ended her career in 2021.

Last but not least on the list of beautiful wedding moments 2022, Minnesota was the place to meet for the US Cross-Country team members right after their first training camp. The shared future of Jessie Diggins and Wade Poplawski was to be celebrated. Many happy returns to the couple and all the best wishes for a happy marriage!
